Entryway Tales From the Wood
Having worked with wood since 1986, Woodstock furniture artist Laura Shapiro has developed such a fluency with the woodworking process that each of her pieces seems to tell a story. She builds, carves, and paints each piece by hand, creating whimsical, one-of-a-kind pieces that meld together a disparate range of influences, including medieval, African tribal, Arts-and-Crafts, and the circus.
