In his studio/shop at the Medusa building in New Paltz, Marc Anthony artfully turns old shipping pallets into upscale furnishings and home goods for indoors and out. He also teaches people to do it themselves—no experience necessary, just the will to learn and an adventurous spirit. “Ask us to make something, challenge us, dare us,” says Anthony. “Just be prepared, we only do it with salvaged, recycled materials.” Anthony’s most popular items are letters and numerals made from pallets, which can be painted with your choice of color and/or inlaid with indoor/outdoor lights. Use them for large-scale house numbers or spell out a greeting for visitors and neighbors along a fence or deck.
