At his Brooklyn design studio, Bradford Teasdale specializes in the structural and decorative uses of concrete, as well as sustainable design. His new line of etched concrete furniture allows the designer, who gave up a career in finance 15 years ago in order to learn to work with his hands, to explore both interests. The Mermaid Bench, made of concrete and reclaimed mountain ash, is a modernist take on Old World motifs, and was crafted sustainably in the Hudson Valley using local sand, gravel, and wood.
