Troy-based T&J Handcrafted Soaps uses an artisanal cold-production process to make small-batch soaps—as well as lotions, candles, and other personal goodies—entirely from scratch. Eschewing chemicals for only the highest-quality natural ingredients, T&J’s line of products is food for the skin. The company’s “Delicious” line of soaps features ingredient combinations designed to cleanse and soothe every skin type: rosemary, peppermint, and eucalyptus; coconut lime; vanilla oatmeal; oatmeal, milk, and honey; cherry almond; nag champa; frankincense and myrrh; lemongrass; lavender; and minimalist (unscented). The soaps are longer lasting than commercial varieties and each comes with its own handmade, mold-resistant cedar soap saver with chamfered edges.
