Ceramics usually come in rounded form, but Kingston-based designer Andrew Molleur’s pieces are surprisingly geometrical. His influence, he says, is architecture, and it shows in the sleek lines of his pieces. The small origami containers and large “Origami” vase feature Escher-like triangular folds. The interlocking “Colorblock” vases come in saturated pastels of Bermuda green and titanium yellow. Molleur also makes modern art sculptures, some which call up a ceramic version of Jenga while others are reminiscent of Lego structures in their bold colors and delicate intertwined pieces.
